Royal British Legion - Poppy Appeal - Local Organiser for Painswick needed.

The current local organiser is retiring after ten years in the role and is seeking a replacement. Activity is obviously focussed on October and November each year and Russ Herbert is prepared to assist his successor through the first year. Art is food for the soul and St. Michael's Bistro in Painswick will be holding an auction on 17th May from 7pm in partnership with Anthony Lewis-Churchill in support of both local artists and to raise money for Painswick Recreation Ground. The Annual Parish Meeting will be held on Wednesday 16th May 2018 in the Painswick Town Hall between 6pm to 9pm.

There will be representatives from the Parish Council and its Committees, your County Councillor and District Councillors. No 63 Bus Diversions

Statement from Stagecoach:-

Unfortunately we have experienced difficulties with the contractors so have needed to change our service 63 in the morning peak. We have been unable to gain access through the closure this week as we had expected. Service 63 can have access but only from Pitchcombe, therefore 2 services towards Gloucester will not be able to serve Paganhill, Whiteshill or Edge.

Painswick Parish Council would like to thank the local community for their fantastic engagement with the recent traffic calming consultation.

Responses have been validated against the electoral roll and a total of 476 valid votes were received, which represent 25% of the Painswick ward population.

The final results are:

Yes - 246 (52%)

No - 230 (48%)

A4173 Road Improvements

Work will take place from Tuesday 10th April to Wednesday 23rd May and a road closure will be in place between 7:30am to 5:30pm daily (excluding weekends and bank holiday).

For the safety of road users and our workforce, the road will be closed to through-traffic between Whaddon and the A46 for the duration of the scheme. Pedestrian access will be maintained and a signed diversion suitable for HGV's will be in place. The road will be re-opened.. Read More »
