TRO A46 Painswick to Pitchcombe
Proposal This is an amended proposal to: (i) revoke the existing 50mph speed limit on the A46 between Painswick and Stroud and replace with a 40mph speed limit; and (ii) reduce the existing 50mph speed limit on the A4173 from the Pitchcombe junction to a 40mph speed limit and remake a shorter extent of the 50mph speed limit.

A46 - update September 2024 - NOW REOPENED (traffic lights in place)
UPDATE: September 2024
The A46 is now re-opened and the busses are running a normal timetable.
Traffic Lights are in place to allow Gloucestershire Highways to monitor the road.

Vicarage Street Residents - Help Needed
Replacing telegraph poles on Vicarage Street, Painswick.
BT Openreach have removed and replaced a telegraph pole in Vicarage Street, outside of Yew Tree House. They are also due to replace the pole at Tabitha's, although it is hoped that advance notice can be provided this time.

Celebrating 25 years of service to Painswick Parish Council
Martin Slinger stepped down as a Councillor and Chairman of Painswick Parish Council after devoting a cool 25 years of service to the Parish. Presentation to Mrs Sheila Hodder
On the 5th June 2024, the Council unanimously agreed to posthumous grant Mr George Hodder the Honorary Freedom of the Parish.
The roll of honour was presented to Mrs Sheila Hodder by the Chairman, Mr Adrian Gyde and Clerk Roy Balgobin.
The Council will be forever grateful for the many years of loyal service that George gave to the Community.

Mr George Hodder - RIP
Update: - The funeral is being held at St Marys Church, at noon on the Tuesday 25th June, followed by the Wake in the Town Hall.
The Council are heartbroken to announce that our beloved George Hodder, sadly passed away on Tuesday 4th June 2024.

a46 UPDATE (re-opening 18th April 2024)
Please be advised that the A46 South of Painswick is scheduled to be reopened upon completion of overnight works at approximately 04:00am Thursday 18th April.
Two-way Traffic management will be in place upon opening.
Note buses are running to the normal timetable.
