PAINSWICK CROWNED GLOUCESTERSHIRE VILLAGE OF THE YEAR 2025!

Painswick Crowned Overall Winner of Gloucestershire Village of the Year 2025

Painswick Parish Council is delighted to announce that Painswick has been named the Overall Winner of the Gloucestershire Rural Community Council's (GRCC) -

Village of the Year 2025.

Competing across four categories, Painswick achieved first place in both the 'Inclusive Commitments' and 'Climate and Environment' categories, and was named runner-up in 'Community-Led Health and Wellbeing'. Following a rigorous judging process, the panel selected Painswick as the overall champion, recognising the village for its consistently high standards across all areas of community life.

In an interview with BBC Radio Gloucestershire, GRCC Chief Executive Barbara Piranty praised Painswick's achievement to being strong across all the categories.

The awards were formally presented at a ceremony held at Highnam Court, with Adrian Gyde, Chairman of Painswick Parish Council, and Delyth Allen of the Painswick Community Support Group, proudly accepting the honours on behalf of the village.

Painswick Parish Council extends its heartfelt thanks to all those who contributed to the competition entry, and, most importantly, to the entire community. This award is a reflection of the dedication, passion, and hard work of local residents and organisations, who together make Painswick an inclusive, welcoming, and vibrant place to live.
